About Us
Mawang comes from the Wiradjuri word for “all together”. That’s the heart of everything we do – walking alongside communities, organisations, and leaders to design better futures together.
Founded by Jessie Robinson, Mawang Consulting draws on over 15 years of professional experience and deep lived experience. Growing up in Western NSW, Jessie saw first-hand the strength of his community, as well as the barriers created by systems that weren’t designed with First Nations voices in mind. That lived experience drives his passion for reshaping how services and policies are created – ensuring they are culturally safe, community-led and impactful.
Our Values
-
Relationships first – real change starts with trust and connection.
-
Deep listening – we don’t just consult; we listen, reflect and act.
-
Self-determination – communities must be free to lead their own solutions.
-
Truth & respect – honest conversations, cultural safety and integrity in everything we do.
-
Impact – not just words, but action that makes systems more fair and communities stronger.
Why Work With Us?
Mawang Consulting offers something different – an approach grounded in First Nations knowledge systems, shaped by lived experience, and backed by years of professional expertise. We bridge worlds, helping organisations engage safely with First Nations peoples and design solutions that last.

Our Two Way Learning Model

Our Approach
At Mawang Consulting, we believe in designing with communities, not for them.
Our approach is about slowing down, listening deeply, and creating space for communities to lead. We value and implement First Nations knowledge systems into our work and value lived and living experience as experts to work for generational change. This ensures that solutions are grounded in lived experience, shaped by relationships and guided by cultural ways of being and doing.

We focus on:
-
Relationships-first practice – building the foundation and conditions for success.
-
Deep listening – hearing and valuing the voices of those with lived experience.
-
Shared learning – creating two-way knowledge exchange.
-
Long-term impact – designing solutions that are sustainable.
